As you know, I try and do something each year to help raise money to give to Ovarian Cancer Action....I don't need to tell you why as you all knew my lovely Mum x So! As I didn't do anything last year I have given myself a double hard challenge! (Well, for me anyway!!)......I'm not a sporting type of girl, really, but have set myself the goal of running in the Langtoft Road Race set for 1st May 2011! When I first moved to Langtoft, I heard of this '10k Road Race' and wondered what an itsy bits village was doing putting on such a mammoth challenge for people out there??!! Surely if you can do 10k, you must be just ridiculously fit, right?......no...not necessarily... So, my husband kitted me out with new running gear for Christmas and myself and Carly have been training since the new year.....inside and outside of the pub.......by the way, 'outside the pub' does involve running past it more than once, so this is not to be sniffed at, you know! I have no real expectations on how much I would like to raise (but had to put something in the target box!), but I know that if Mum was here she would be chuffed that I not only stuck at something for this long but that I could run 10k without stopping.....and I can still chat too!!! (she would be most impressed with that bit!!)......so, please donate if you are able to, there is no pressure as 'its just for fun' really, but hoping to do some good too :) Thanks ever so for reading all of this - why oh why I can't just ask nicely and be done with it, I'll never know.....an essay always seems necessary in my world.....
